Slight Redesign

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

In culmination of several days’ work, I have completed a new header for Trev’s Travels. I’m very happy with it’s look, which I feel is much classier than the old blocky style The images which appear when you hover over the text are from the Tango Project. Also, many thanks to Stu Nicholls from CSSplay.co.uk. I made extensive use of his articles in figuring out how to do the rollovers and image replacements in this new header. I’ve also updated the About Me page, so that it now contains my current weather, Folding@Home stats, and most recent bookmarks. The final addition is an About this Site page, which will contain information about the technologies powering Trev’s Travels, and give credit to the free software I use.

Wait Patiently for July

Friday, May 5th, 2006

I come bearing sad tidings. Heartbreaking in fact. I have decided to neglect my wonderful website for the next two months. My last few months here in Senegal are looking very busy indeed, with too many great oppurtunities vying for my time. As I see it, I can work on this site over the summer, but I can’t finish up Grade 12, or enjoy time with my friends here, whom I will soon be leaving. I do plan on getting a job this summer, and in fact, I finished my first ever resumé tonight. However, I don’t expect the summer will be near as hectic as these next few months. What a relief that will be!

During this time of silence I will be busy finishing my Grade 12 courses, graduating, and bidding farewell to my friends and family here.

So, don’t come looking for updates, there won’t be any until July. I return in July. I will read comments, though I don’t expect 27 52, like I got on my Translate Widget post! I’ve still got plenty of bloggable material around, and some stuff which might even be useful to the general public. But for now, it waits, collecting dust in the inner portions of my unexcavated hard drive.

So, there’s no use postponing the inevitable.

This July, returning to a blog near you…

Trev’s Travels: Take 2

Trev's Travels
Change!
Change is good.
So, I have made some changes to trevorcreech.com.

Most notably:

  1. I have fancy header-text/logo!
  2. The sidebar is now on the right.
  3. You can now comment on non-blog works, such as my writing!
  4. As a consequence of the above, my blog is now at http://trevorcreech.com/blog/ instead of http://blog.trevorcreech.com. Photos are now at http://trevorcreech.com/photos/ as well, instead of http://photos.trevorcreech.com.
  5. There’s more stuff in my sidebar.
  6. Buttons are pretty.

I will be moving over the rest of my writing soon, and hopefully more stuff.

So, as a last tribute to my first design experiment, here is a screenshot:

Old Trev's Travels

From here forth, vive le 2!

New Website Section

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

As you may have noticed, I have changed the main page of my website from it’s old splashyness, to a more practical design.

It has a few rough spots in Internet Explorer, mainly the gray squares around the pretty stars. All I have to say is that, if you haven’t already, Get Firefox.

Anyways, enjoy the stuff I’ve posted their, such as my writing, and website pages.

The Dancing Mennonite

Monday, February 20th, 2006

First off, I’m going to take you guys back a couple years. This was before we went on furlough, so I was about 14. One evening, we were at our mission centre, and there was “English Country Dancing” going on. Now, dancing seemed to me like something only sissies would do. So, when Darren went over and joined in the dances, I teased him mercilessly.

Now, looking back, I realize how much fun I missed! Why? Well, there was another dance on Saturday night, and this time, I wasn’t too “mature” to participate! English Country Dancing is similar to Square Dancing, but more complicated. We’d learn all the steps first, and then try to put it to music. Some of the dances were hard, but there was a guy who knew them all well, and helped us get it right. It was an evening of good, clean fun, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves!

In other news, I’m working on another section of my website, where I’ll have some of the writing I’ve done, and other fun stuff! I’ll be sure to let you all know when it’s ready.
