EBC, here I come!

Monday, January 30th, 2006

Good news today!
I just got an email informing me that I have been accepted at my first and only choice of Bible College for next year, Emmanuel Bible College. Yes, if I had not been accepted I would have been in quite a jam, having no other plans for next year!
Now, it wasn’t a very demanding application, so I expected to be accepted (a rhyme!), but it’s still nice to be sure!
I applied for the Diploma in Biblical Studies program, which lasts 2 years.

I’m excited!

My Camera has Died

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

Yup, that’s the truth.
The other day at DA, I pulled out my faithful camera ‘Larry’ (see the connection? Bob and Larry.), and turned it on, only to see a mess of black and white on the screen. Looking closer, I could see that there were evil cracks snaking across the LCD screen. My camera has no viewfinder, so this means I have no way of telling what exactly I’m taking a picture of…
I contacted a repair service, to find out how much it would cost to repair, and they quoted me 100 bucks! The camera cost $220 new for goodness sakes.
So, I have 2 options now. Either I ditch Larry and buy a new camera, or I order the part and try to fix it myself. I’m waiting to find out how much the new screen would cost now.

Anyways, the point of this is that you probably won’t be seeing too many new pictures over on My Photos.

In other news, though somewhat belated, I’d like to welcome Mr. Stephen Harper as our new Prime Minister. This could be an interesting time for Canadian politics.

I’m off now, bonne nuit!

Late Night Physics

Saturday, January 21st, 2006

How many of you have taken a Physics final exam at 11:00 pm?
The flexability of homeschooling.
I wasn’t expecting this exam to be a big deal, but then I found out it was 75 multiple choice questions! Took me almost 3 hours (8:00-11:00, not 11:00-2:00 ;)). Great way to spend a Friday night, eh? But it’s out of the way now.

This means, that now I am totally and completely in Grade 12! I switched things up a bit, doing one Grade 12 course last year, and this Grade 11 course this year. One step closer to graduating.

Darren’s gone for the weekend, it’s weird not having him around.

“Geometry Tests are Fun!” - Once They’re Over

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

Thanks to those of you who prayed for and thought of me yesterday. The test went much, much better than I had expected!
I did run a bit tight on time, and wasn’t able to go through the last question too thoroughly (I got it wrong :P), but I was confident about everything else. Definately an answer to prayer!
Now it’s on to my Physics final exam!

The first Youth Group of the semester was last night. It’s great to have that going again.
We’re starting a new course this semester, on other Worldviews: Secular Humanism, Marxist-Leninism, and Cosmic Humanism (the ism’s). Today it was saying that many Christians have withdrawn from the ’secular’ arenas of politics and education, causing a major decline in society’s morality. We, as Christians, need to view all aspects of life as related to our faith, and not shy away from influencing culture.
Some interesting stuff to think about…

Geometry Tests are Fun!

Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

I’ve got this Geometry test that I’m supposed to take this afternoon…the course has been hard so far, plus I’ve been away from it for a month now. And, this is the first test of the course, halfway through the year. I don’t exactly feel ready.
So, if you guys could pray for me as I study this morning and take it this afternoon, I’d really appreciate it!

On a lighter note, I’ve found a new talent.
Yup, you’re looking at a guy who kills flies with his bare hands!
I got three this morning, hovering around our breakfast food.
